Elevate Your Life in the Next Year

If you are looking for ways to elevate your life in the next year then we have you covered. Amora V Lifestyle has a full list of ways to elevate your life in the next year.

1. Vision What You Want

What would the day look like if you could envision your best life? What steps would you need to take to achieve your dream life?

Visioning your dream life is a great way to determine the person you want to become and go for it.

The first step to elevating your life is visioning what you want.

Truly understanding your vision allows you to know where you want to be in life. Once you can visualize the end goal, it enables the ability to create a plan to achieve it.

2. Make a Vision Board

Once you have a vision of what you want in life, creating a vision board will help with visualizing the big picture regularly.

A vision board is a poster board with photos of your desired lifestyle.

The purpose of a vision board is to hang it somewhere you can see it daily.

Having a vision board nearby is a friendly reminder to yourself why you work so hard every single day. Therefore, it helps with staying motivated. [Read also: Step by Step Guide on How to Reinvent Yourself]

3. Come Up With a 5-Year Action Plan

Having a 5-year plan is ideal. It allows you to dream big and give a purpose to your daily actions to achieve the goal. It also lets you step back and see the big picture.

After determining the 5-year plan, create a yearly roadmap from the 1st year until the 5th year, with each year having an allocated list of goals you need to accomplish to achieve the big goal.

Thus, breaking down the 5-year plan into yearly milestones. Which leads us to our next point.

4. Breaking Down the 5-Year Plan into Smaller Milestones

Breaking down the 5-year goal into a yearly plan allows the ability to break down the overall desired goal into smaller achievable tasks within a shorter time frame.

Tip:  Make sure to set achievable goals to complete on time. Achieving goals on time or ahead of schedule will likely motivate you to work harder.

Creating small milestones is done by breaking down the 5-year plan into a 1-2-3-4-5-year plan and focusing on the 1st year plan out of the 5-year plan.

Therefore, focusing on achieving the goal year by year rather than trying to work towards a 5-year goal.

Breaking down the goal into smaller pieces prevents you from being overwhelmed by the big picture.

You then take the 1-year plan and break it down into bite-size pieces. Choose either weekly goals or monthly goals.

Doing this gives a better understanding of how much time is needed to set aside to complete the 1-year plan.

Having the 1-year goal broken down into weeks and months is a great way to be held accountable and stay motivated.

For example, Ann plans on paying off her home in 5 years. The remaining loan amount on her home is $100,000.

Therefore, to pay the home off in five years, she must come up with a 5-year plan. Ann’s experience with her five-year plan is as follows:

Year 1: The goal for year 1 is to pay down $20,000 on the home

Ann must put approximately $1666.66 each month towards her home equity to hit her 1st-year goal.

Ann exceeds her goals and adds an additional $10,000 to the home equity.

Year 2: Since Ann put more towards the home than expected, she can now adjust her five-year plan within the second year.

This year she needs to only put away $17,500 for her home.

However, during this year, Ann lost her job.

Therefore, she could only put $10,000 toward her home’s equity.

Year 3: Ann must once again adjust her goals. She currently has $40,000 paid off on her home, leaving her with only $60,000 left.

Therefore, putting her back on her original plan.

Ann pays off the additional $20,000 towards her equity in the third year.

Year 4 & 5: Ann stays on track, puts an additional $20,000 towards her home equity in the 4th and 5th year, and can pay off her house as she plans within the 5-year goal.

This is a very basic 5-year plan broken down into simple objectives and goal dates for each. Likely, your 5-year plan will be more complex than this.

Having goals broken down into shorter timeframes will show whether the plans are complete within the given timeframe.

Having deadlines allows you to hold yourself accountable and keep track of your progress throughout the years to see how far you’ve come.

It is also a great way to access and update your plan as you progress. Achieving your goals ahead of schedule gets you to your final destination faster!

5. Regularly Overview, Assess, and Adjust Goal

The best habits to become successful is having goals. Having goals is a great indication that you are on a path to success. Furthermore, goals allows the ability for you to level up your life in the next year. Afterall, how do you know where you want to go in life if you don't know what you want out of life. It is for this reason that I hope I can one day teach my child the importance of planning and having goals in life.

One of the most critical steps is regularly overviewing, accessing, and adjusting goals as needed.

Doing this allows you to evaluate if you are on track, ahead, or behind with your goals.

Since the primary focus is on the 1-year goal of a 5-year plan, having a vision board to remind yourself of the big picture often helps motivate daily effort.

Furthermore, sometimes the 5-year goal changes, so the milestones must be adjusted accordingly. This allows you to stay on track with what you are trying to achieve in life.

6. Understand Your Why

Similar to a company mission statement, you should have the same—purpose for why you want to achieve the big goal in your life.

The ‘why’ should be unique and genuine to you and not pressured by what a spouse, friend, or family member wants. The ‘why’ needs to be a fire in your soul and something you are passionate about.

A strong ‘why’ behind wanting to achieve your dream will help you succeed.

A strong ‘why’ will likely keep you going despite the tough times and struggles you may face.

7. Learn the Art of Discipline

Working towards goals and having discipline to complete your task allows you to level up your life in the next year. Having better habits and working towards them is another way of how to reinvent yourself.

Learning the art of discipline is incredibly important to elevate your life.

Upgrading your life will take much work because living a different lifestyle will require changing habits and routines.

Making a change will require discipline.

  • Discipline to kick old habits to start new ones
  • Discipline to show up day in and day out and not give up
  • Discipline to work even when not feeling like it
  • Discipline to create and update goals regularly

Without discipline, then change may never happen. Therefore, if you want the life you dream of, then discipline is a must.

8. Focus on the Process

Coming up with a 5-year plan is likely going to be overwhelming.

However, for significant change, time is needed. Therefore, making a 5-year plan is a must for big life goals.

Since a 5-year plan is overwhelming, it helps to break it down into a 1-year bite-size plan, from the 1-year plan breaking it down into weekly or monthly goals.

Breaking down a big goal into smaller task allows you to focus on the process.

Focusing on the process of your weekly or monthly goals will make the process much easier.

Having a long-term goal gives you something to work towards, and seeing progress along the way is an excellent feeling of achievement.

Furthermore, keeping track of your goals and how far you’ve come will be inspirational and motivating.

What is Elevating Your Life?

Elevating your life is the ability to envision your best life, from work, living space, diet, and appearance to family life.

Then actively working to achieve this vision.

How Quickly Can I Elevate my Life

Elevating your life takes time and effort, but the rewards are more than worth it. Upgrading your lifestyle to the next level requires discipline and dedication.

After all, how do you plan on achieving something different by doing the same thing you’ve always done?

It’s important to understand that success rarely comes overnight but through consistent effort and perseverance.

Keep working towards your goals, and you’ll be amazed at the progress you can make.

Aiming for Change Within a Year

Aiming for change within 1-year is an excellent start to elevating your life.

A year-to-year time frame allows the ability to track progress easily throughout your lifetime.

Therefore, the end of each year enables you to look back and see how much you have accomplished. Furthermore, you can track year-over-year improvement much more quickly.

Thus, allowing you to see how far you’ve come from the start of the journey. Especially if your journey towards a new you and new life takes many years to achieve.

Hi Maryanne, I create my vision board in Photoshop using images that inspire me. I have wording with mine, and then I print it out and hang on my fridge for my year goals. It really does make a difference when you are able to remind yourself every single day what you are working for. It also helps me stay on track. Thank you for taking the time to read and comment I greatly appreciate it. 🙂

These tips to level up our lives to enrich our next year are perfect. I love the ideas – especially the understanding of your why like a company mission station.

Yes, having a why has really made a huge impact on why I am doing this! It takes so much hard work and effort to create something so having a why is a great way to remember why you are wanting to push through when you are ready to call it quits. Thank you so much for taking the time to read my article. I greatly appreciate it. 🙂
