Are you looking to go boating this summer but need a boat? Well, we got the solution for you! You can rent a boat on three different lakes in Kansas City! Be sure to book early because boat rentals often fill up quickly.

Below is everything you need to know about renting a boat from Lake Jacomo, Blue Springs Lake, and Longview Marina.

Lake Jacomo

Lake Jacomo is located alongside Blue Springs Lake (listed below) on the 7,809 acres of Fleming Park. Lake Jacomo is made of 970 acres of fresh water with a depth of 53 feet. Lake Jacomo differs from Blue Springs Lake because of the limited horsepower regulation. Motorboats max power is 25 horsepower. However, sailboats and pontoons are limited to a maximum of 40 horsepower. Therefore, making this an excellent lake for sailboats and fishermen.

Lake Jacomo has a horsepower regulation allowing various boats to use the lake, from pontoon boats to kayaks and canoes. You can find all the boat rentals below.

Other great features you can expect when visiting Lake Jacomo are concessions, lakeside gasoline, tackle and bait, and a boating dock.

Blue Springs Lake

Blue Springs Lake is a 720 acres freshwater reservoir in the 7,809 acres Fleming Park. On Blue Springs Lake, Powered boats are allowed, and you will often see water skiing, tubing, and jet skiing. 

Fishing is permitted on Blue Springs Lake; they even have a fish-cleaning station on the lake! Book your Pontoon Boat in advance, as the spots get reserved quickly.

Alongside boating, Blue Springs Lake has a 1-acre beach open from memorial day through labor day weekend. However, the beach area does cost money to access. 

The 1-acre beach features sandy beaches for your younger children to build sandcastles and a sand volleyball court for the older ones. Another significant aspect of the beach is that it has a certified lifeguard on duty!

Longview Lake

Longview Marina features a 930-acre freshwater reserve owned by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The Longview Marina rents out Pontoon boats at an affordable fee allowing you to enjoy your day on the lake. 

In addition to motorboats, you can go windsurfing from Monday – Thursday from sunrise to sunset. While windsurfing, you must have a certified type I, II, or III personal floatation device. Although windsurfing is permitted, Stand Up Paddleboards are NOT welcome. 

In addition to renting boats, there is a 1-acre beach with a volleyball court and the Rowdy Rabbit’s inflatable Water Park. Other attractions at Rowdy Rabbit’s inflatables include volleyball, a water bridge, and monkey bars. You can rest easy knowing there is a certified lifeguard on duty

However, admission to the beach area does cost money. The beach opens from Memorial Day to Labor Day Weekend. However, access to Rowdy Rabbit’s is also an additional fee. 

You can enjoy other amenities at the Longview Marina, such as the full-service convenience store, bait & tackle, two boat ramps, and overnight slip rentals.
