We have a list that features a place for everyone, from a tropical paradise and unforgettable views to the big city. 

If you enjoy exploring and experiencing new places, this list is just for you! 

The best part is that all the locations on the list can be visited here in good ol’ America.

Glacier National Park

Glacier National Park is located in Montana and offers unforgettable views. The national park has several hiking trails throughout the park that has breathtaking views.

Some trails that provide incredible scenic views are the Grinnell Glacier Trail, the Iceberg Lake Trail, and the Trail of the Cedars.

The Grinnell Glacier Trail is approximately 11.2 miles long and takes 5-6 hours to hike. 

Views from the trail include glaciers, meadows, springs, and lakes. Although the hike is considered difficult, the views make it well worth it.

Iceberg Lake Trail is a more leisurely hike than the Grinnell Glacier Trail and offers equally stunning views. 

Along the hike, there is the breathtaking backdrop of the mountains, green grass, and trees throughout Glacier National Park. The trail is approximately 9.3 miles and is easy for avid hikers.

The Trail of the Cedars made our list since it is wheelchair and stroller accessible, allowing it to be hiked by anyone. 

Furthermore, the trail is approximately a mile long and an easy hike. 

The pathways feature a wooden path that loops. If you have little ones needing a stroller or cannot physically hike the rough trails throughout the park, this is the perfect trail for you!

Hiking is only one of the many outdoor activities available at Glacier National Park. 

There is boating; however, a permit is required, and the boat must have an inspection before launching. Then there is fishing and cross-country skiing, two other activities offered at Glacier National Park.

Another significant aspect of the park is that it has 13 camping sites allowing you to immerse yourself fully in the park and experience every aspect from morning to night.

New York, New York

Only the biggest city in America, filled with energy like no other. If you have never been to New York City, this is a must-travel destination in America. 

The number of skyscrapers and the everyday hustle and bustle present in Time Square will leave you in awe. The city is filled with so many memorable experiences. 

Some must-see attractions in New York City are catching a play on Broadway, visiting time square, taking a stroll in Central Park, and riding the Satan Island Ferry. 

If you are looking for a big city experience, look no further.

Maui, Hawaii

Do you want a bit of paradise without having to stamp the passport? 

Then look no further. Right here in America is Maui, Hawaii. 

A spectacular destination filled with palm trees, beautiful beaches, green valleys, and volcanic landscapes, making it a unique destination.

In addition to beaches and beautiful landscapes, the island also features many different activities. 

Activities include snorkeling, surfing, boat tours, parasailing, and much more, allowing your family to experience something exciting while on vacation.

New Orleans, Louisiana

New Orleans is a strange city filled with culture, life, and entertainment. One of the most significant aspects of New Orleans is the French Quarter, filled with bars, live music, and fantastic architecture. 

The French Quarter offers a nightlife that is filled with energy that is unlike any other city visited before. 

In addition to the French Quarter, anyone can partake in a haunted ghost tour that gives the history of the town’s past filled with spooky paranormal stories. 

Another significant aspect of New Orleans is the incredible food. 

In-between drinking, getting haunted, and admiring the beautiful building, you delight in delicious food. Thus, making New Orleans on our list of places to visit in America.

Savannah, Georgia

Savannah, Georgia, offers a charming city escape. Savannah offers beautiful architecture that will take you back in time. 

In fact, there are several different historic homes you can visit in Savannah. 

One is the Davenport House, built in the 1820s and now allows a limited number of visitors to walk through the home! Allowing a glimpse of what architecture and life were like over 100 years ago.

Another fantastic home that will enable visitors is the Green-Meldrim House, built in the early 1850s. The home is stunning and features a beautiful garden patio. The home can be toured when open. 

These are just a few of the many houses that can be toured. Allowing for a glimpse back in time!

Another main reason to visit Savannah, Georgia, is the short distance from the beaches and islands. 

Tybee Island is a short drive from Savannah and features several different beaches. 

The Little Tybee Beach, South Beach, Mid Beach, and North Beach. Other beaches nearby Savannah are Driftwood Beach on Jekyll Island and Main Beach on Little St. Simons Island.

Savannah offers an old-school style of architecture with a southern feel and a day trip away to pristine beaches and a beautiful island.

Sanibel Island, Florida

Sanibel Island is in Florida and features beautiful white sandy beaches and many seashells. 

There are several different beaches on Sanibel Island, such as Bowman’s Beach, Blind Pass Beach, and Lighthouse Beach Park.

In addition to spending the day on the beach, there are various activities to partake in, such as kayaking, biking, and many dining options. 

One of the best aspects of Sanibel Island is 60% of the island is a nature reserve. 

For this reason, Sanibel Island offers a setting that allows you to connect with nature and escape daily hustles.

Silver Lake Sand Dunes, Michigan

Silver Lake Sand Dunes, located in Michigan, is a great way to experience the desert in the heart of the midwest. 

The dunes are fun to visit and offer a wide range of activities, such as sandboarding or ATV’ing.

Sandboarding is just as it sounds, similar to snowboarding, except for replacing snow with sand. Board rentals are available nearby at the Sand Box Store. You can take your rental board and hit the sandy slopes of Silver Lake Sand Dunes.

Another fun and unique attraction in Michigan is Buggy Rentals, giving you an off-road experience to cruise the dunes. 

Exploring the dunes by motor vehicle allows excellent coverage to explore a larger area of the dune. Driving on the dunes with a buggy is an unforgettable experience!

In addition to sandboarding and Buggy Rentals, you can also walk the dunes. 

Walking up the dunes is surprisingly hard yet rewarding, as it is a great workout. Walking the Sand Dunes is free of charge and a fun way to immerse yourself with the Sand Dunes.

Another significant aspect of the dunes is that it is next to a lake, allowing the ability to get the feeling of being in a desert while catching glimpses of a pristine and beautiful lake.

Multnomah Falls, Oregon

Multnomah Falls is located approximately a 30 minutes drive from Portland, Oregon. Making it a perfect day trip away from the city to explore the best of nature.

Multnomah Falls attracts visitors worldwide each year due to its breathtakingly gorgeous views of a 620-foot cascade. 

When visiting Multnomah Falls, expect to spend several hours.

Marco Island, Florida

Marco Island is another destination in Florida is known for its beautiful beaches. 

Marco Island features high rises, groomed beaches, golf courses, and shopping. It is perfect if you are looking for a more developed beach city that gives you the ocean escape and the city lifestyle.

The top attraction on Marco Island, aside from the beaches, is the Marco Island Princess, which offers a luxurious water cruise around the island. 

Another great attraction is Breakwater Adventures which offers various wildlife viewing tours such as dolphins, manatees, and so much more. 

Then there is the Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary, which has the largest swamp in the area—allowing you to walk on a wooden boardwalk while taking in the views of the swamp and various animals, such as gators and snakes.

The Wave, Arizona

The Wave in Arizona is a must-see destination! 

The wave features sights that are out of this world. 

Such as a sandstone rock formation with a sweeping line that gives it a distinguished and unforgettable appearance.

The wave is located in the Coyote Buttes North and is a wilderness area that does not contain trails. 

Therefore, getting to the wave is an adventure in itself. Upon getting your permit, you should receive a route map, photo guide, and GPS coordinates that will take 6.4 miles until you reach The Wave.

To visit The Wave, a permit is required. The daily maximum is 64 people for Coyote Buttes North. Permits are awarded online and by walk-in lotteries.

48 individuals (or 12 groups) are awarded through the online system, while 16 individuals (or 4 groups) are awarded through a walk-in.
